TALLAHASSEE – The No. 10 Florida State softball team (13-4) rolled to a 14-0 win in five innings over Florida A&M (8-7) on Wednesday evening at JoAnne Graf Field.

Ashtyn Danley got the start in the circle and was great as she went three innings and allowed just one hit while striking out six to earn the win. Marlee Gaskell and Makenna Reid each pitched an inning and combined to strike out five to keep the Rattlers off the board.

The Noles got right to work offensively as Marin Heller drew a leadoff walk, and Jaysoni Beachum doubled off the wall to put the Noles up 1-0. After back-to-back walks, Makenna Sturgis hit an infield single to put the Noles up 2-0 after one.

The Noles had their first big inning of the evening in the second inning. Beachum and Ashtyn Danley hit back-to-back RBI singles to put the Noles up 4-0. Kennedy Harp kept the momentum going with her first hit of the season with a RBI double. Shelby McKenzie and Hayley Griggs capped off the inning with a couple of RBI singles to put the Noles up 8-0.

After a scoreless third inning, the Rattlers got two quick outs, but the Noles rallied for six two-out runs. Heller hit a RBI single, and Beachum walked to set up Danley who tripled to score two more. Danley would eventually score on a throwing error. Sturgis picked up another RBI, and McKenzie reached on a error to cap off the inning.

FSU will be back in action for a doubleheader tomorrow against FGCU beginning at 3 p.m. on ACCNX.
