SERIES HISTORY VS. NORTH FLORIDA

On March 4, 2025, Florida State opened a two-game midweek with a 10-1 win over North Florida. Bailey hit two home runs to lead the offense. SCOUTING THE OSPREYS
North Florida is 5-3 in 2026, including 4-3 at home and 1-0 on the road. UNF is coming off a series win over Quinnipiac, with a 10-0 win in seven innings in Friday’s opener and a split doubleheader on Saturday, with a 6-3 loss in game one and a 5-4 win in the nightcap. The Ospreys open their midweek slate at home against USC Upstate on Tuesday night.

LAST TIME OUT: WEEKEND IN ARLINGTON
The Seminoles return home after a weekend in Arlington, Texas, at the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field, the home of the Texas Rangers. FSU went 1-2 on the weekend, with a 6-1 win over Michigan before an 8-5 loss to No. 9 Auburn and a 10-1 defeat to Nebraska. FSU played in an MLB ballpark for the first time since 2018 and Globe Life Field is the fourth ballpark the Seminoles have played a game in that has hosted at least one full season of Major League ball

Florida State defeated Michigan 6-1 to open the weekend on Friday.  Eight Seminoles had a hit in the win to fuel the six-run, 13-hit effort. That backed up another strong start from Mendes, as four FSU pitchers held the Wolverines to one run on three hits. Sophomore second baseman Jace Estes, making his second career start, led the way with three hits, two RBI and two runs scored, all career highs. Sophomore third baseman Gabe Fraser notched a career-best three hits with two runs scored and ended the day a home run shy of the cycle. Mendes allowed just one hit with seven strikeouts and a walk in 5.1 innings while throwing 89 pitches. The southpaw did not allow a baserunner until the third and the lone hit came in the fourth. That fourth inning was the only time more than one runner reached safely in an inning, and a UM runner reached second base just twice with Mendes on the mound.

On February 21, FSU lost its first game of the 2026 season to No. 9 Auburn, 8-5. The Seminoles scored five runs on seven hits with one error, while the Tigers had eight runs on 11 hits with two errors. Fraser registered two hits, an RBI and two runs scored to lead the team offensively. Six players had at least one hit in the defeat. On the mound, junior right-hander Bryson Moore allowed three runs, two earned, in 4.1 innings. He struck out three, walked two and allowed five hits.

The Seminoles suffered a 10-1 loss to Nebraska on Sunday afternoon to conclude the weekend. FSU scored one run on two hits while the Huskers scored 10 runs on 10 hits. Bailey hit his team-high-tying second home run of the season in the fourth inning. Sophomore right-handed starter Payton Manca got the loss and is now 1-1 on the year.
