TALLAHASSEE – Florida State returns to the Donald L. Tucker Center Tuesday night riding a three-game winning streak and enters its rivalry match up with Miami with a 14-13 overall record and a 7-7 record in ACC play.

Florida State has as many wins in its last nine games (seven) as it did in its first 20 games of the 2025-26 season (seven). The Seminoles have put together two winning streaks of three games (against Cal, Stanford, and Notre Dame and Virginia Tech, Boston College, and Clemson) as compared to one winning streak of three games (against UT Martin, Georgia Southern, and Cal State Bakersfield) in non-conference play.

Florida State will wear its distinctive Nike Seminole Heritage turquoise uniforms in its game against Miami. It marks the 35th time the Seminoles will wear the uniforms since first wearing them on November 17, 2013, in an 89-61 win over UT Martin. Florida State most recently wore the turquoise uniforms against UMass on December 13, 2025. The Seminoles’ game against Miami marks the second consecutive year they will wear the Heritage uniforms against the Hurricanes at home.

The game between the Seminoles and the Hurricanes will be televised beginning at 9:00 p.m. on the ACC Network with John Schriffen and Debbie Antonelli on the call.

Jeff Culhane and former Seminole Adrian Crawford will have the call live on the Seminole Sports Network and on Facebook Live on the Florida State Men’s Basketball Facebook page. Fans can also check out their Courtside Cam broadcast on the FSU MBB Facebook and X pages, the Seminoles’ YouTube channel, and on the Seminoles Unconquered app.

The game between the Seminoles and the Hurricanes is the second meeting of the season between the two teams. Florida State took a 65-63 win over Miami at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables on January 20, 2026.

Including their victory over Miami in January, the Seminoles have won 15 of the last 16 games played in the series. The Seminoles’ streak includes six consecutive victories in a winning streak that began with an 85-84 win over Miami in Coral Gables on February 25, 2023. The Seminoles’ winning streak of 15 victories in the last 16 games in the series began with a 103-94 win over the Hurricanes in Tallahassee on January 27, 2018.

Florida State’s current hot streak of seven wins in their last nine games began with its 65-63 win over Miami  earlier this season. Including their victory over Miami in January, the Seminoles have wins at home against Cal, at home against Stanford, at Notre Dame, at Virginia Tech, at home against Boston College, and at No. 24 Clemson.

The Seminoles have won six of their last seven and seven of their last nine games and have gone from 0-5 in ACC play to 7-7 in ACC play in a span of 33 days.

“Our guys are competing, they’re connected, and they’re committed to getting better every day,” said head coach Luke Loucks.

The Seminoles’ February rise has been fueled by a connected defense, improved ball movement, and a growing sense of confidence as the regular season enters its final four games.

Florida State is holding its opponents to nearly 19 points per game fewer and nearly nine percentage points lower in their field goal shooting percentage in winning seven of their last nine ACC games as compared to their first five ACC games.

Robert McCray V, who is now ranked 15th in the ACC in scoring, is averaging more than six points more per game in the last nine games than he did in his first five ACC games.

“Our current success is a credit to the character of our guys in the locker room,” said Loucks after the Seminoles’ ACC road win at Clemson. “Even in the lowest of moments they showed up every day working their tails off with an attitude of ‘how can I get better?’ and ‘how can we get better?’ That hard work is now paying off in a really good way.”

Florida State enters its game against Miami having won three consecutive ACC games for the second time this season (first against Cal, Stanford and Notre Dame and against Virginia Tech, and then against Boston College and Clemson). It marks the first time since the 2023-24 season that Florida State has won at least three consecutive games during its ACC season. The Seminoles won five consecutive ACC games against Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Notre Dame, Miami, and Clemson from January 6 through January 20, 2024 in finishing with 10 ACC wins and a 10-10 record in ACC play that season.

The Seminoles have recovered from halftime deficits in each of their last three wins over Virginia Tech, Boston College and most recently Clemson, and have strung together three of the most impressive second half performances of any of the teams in ACC play this season.

In their last three second halves of play, the Seminoles outscored each of their opponents – Virginia Tech by 28 points, Boston College by 18 points, and Clemson by eight points. Including their .783 shooting percentage after halftime against Virginia Tech, the Seminoles are shooting a combined .661 percent from the field in the second halves of their last three games.

Defensively, the Seminoles have held each of the last three opponents to 30 points or less in the second half.

“Every coach wants to play their best basketball towards the end of the season,” said Loucks. “Every day with this group is a lot of fun. They show up with a great attitude and with a hard hat mentality. It doesn’t matter who we are playing. It doesn’t matter if we are practicing or having a shoot around, they are just a joy to coach because they are about the right things.

“When you are about the right things, and guys work their tails off, nights like tonight against Clemson happen. That work shows up in the biggest moments, so I couldn’t be happier for those guys in the locker room.”

Tuesday brings the Florida State vs. Miami rivalry back to the Tucker Center, where Florida State historically plays with strong energy and rhythm.

Loucks has repeatedly credited the home environment, saying, “Our crowd gives us a lift. When the Tucker Center is loud, it changes the game.”

With postseason positioning tightening across the ACC, Tuesday’s match up offers Florida State an opportunity to extend its momentum, secure a season sweep of the Hurricanes, and continue its upward trajectory.

The Seminoles enter the night playing their most connected basketball of the season. With the energy of the home crowd behind them, they look to deliver another strong performance in a rivalry setting.

The Seminoles have found their rhythm, and now they look to raise the volume at home against the Hurricanes.
