TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men’s tennis team (3-6, 0-1 SEC) fell in their Southeastern Conference opener on Saturday, battling No. 3 Texas (10-3, 1-0 SEC) in a 6-1 decision.

Yoshka Sborowsky secured a singles win for the Tide to highlight the day. Additionally, Matic Kriznik and Vit Kalina battled the Longhorns into a third set on their respective courts.

“Good match today against a very tough opponent in Texas. They are just coming off winning the national team indoor championships and we gave them a good fight on a lot of the courts. Our guys learned what they are capable of and what they need to do to get the upper hand on one of the best teams in the country. Time to rest, recover and get back after it on Monday against the [LSU] Tigers”
