Walton – Okaloosa Counties Construction Traffic Advisory

Walton County – 02/13/26 – Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Okaloosa and Walton counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities. All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.

Walton County:

• Western Lake Bridge Replacement – Drivers may encounter temporary County Road 30A traffic stoppages near Western Lake Bridge, Monday, Feb. 16 through Saturday, Feb. 21, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. for construction activities. Delays are expected to last less than 15 minutes and intermittent flagging will be in place to guide vehicles and pedestrians through the work zone.

• U.S. 331 Resurfacing Project from south of I-10 to U.S. 90 – Drivers will encounter intermittent and alternating U.S. 331 lane closures, from south of I-10 to U.S. 90, Sunday, Feb. 15 through Thursday, Feb. 19, between 7:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for milling and paving operations.

Okaloosa County:

• Brooks Bridge Replacement Project – Drivers will encounter a minor traffic shift on Santa Rosa Boulevard from just south of U.S. 98 to the roundabout north of U.S. 98. Additionally, the roundabout remains under construction with a partial closure. The entrance to Marler Park is accessible from the northwest roundabout exit, and detour signage is in place to guide motorists safely through the work zone. This temporary closure is required to construct the new Santa Rosa Boulevard alignment beneath the future Brooks Bridge. This temporary traffic

pattern is expected to remain until mid-2026. Additionally, drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures, Sunday, Feb. 15 through Thursday, Feb. 19 from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for construction activities at the following locations:

Santa Rosa Boulevard from U.S. 98 to Ross Marler Park. Signage and traffic flaggers will be in place to safely direct drivers through the work zone.

U.S. 98 from Ferry Road to Pier Road.

• State Road (S.R.) 85 Resurfacing Project from U.S. 98 to Richbourg Avenue – Drivers will encounter alternating S.R. 85 lane closures, from U.S. 98 to Richbourg Avenue, Sunday, Feb. 15 through Thursday, Feb. 19, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. for manhole and valve adjustments.

• U.S. 98 and S.R. 293 Resurfacing Project – Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures on U.S. 98 from Paraiso Boulevard to Regions Way, and S.R. 293 (Danny Wuerffel Way) from U.S. 98 to the Mid-Bay Bridge, Sunday, Feb. 15 through Thursday, Feb. 19, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. for sidewalk repairs.

• Interstate 10 (I-10) eastbound Rest Area and Truck Parking Improvement Project – Truck parking is now open at the I-10 eastbound rest area near mile marker 60. Remaining construction activities are scheduled for completion in late 2026.

• I-10 Resurfacing from east of Shoal River Bridge to west of S.R. 285 – Drivers will encounter alternating daytime lane closures westbound between mile markers 59 and 70, Monday, Feb. 16 through Thursday, Feb. 19 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. paving operations.

• U.S. 98 Resurfacing from Santa Rosa County Line to west of Josie Road – Motorists will encounter the following traffic impacts:

Shoulder closures are to be expected at A-21 Road and U.S. 98 on Monday, Feb. 16, through Friday, Feb. 20 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for utility relocation.

Lane and shoulder closures are to be expected on Sunday, Feb. 15 through Thursday, Feb. 19 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for median improvements.

• S.R. 85 Improvements from S.R. 123 to Hospital Drive – Drivers will encounter intermittent S.R. 85 lane closures, between S.R. 123 and the Shoal River Bridge, Monday, Feb. 16 through Friday, Feb. 20 at the following times for crews to place thermoplastic striping:

S.R. 85 northbound from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

S.R. 85 southbound from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
