KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Nigel Chambers paced the Alabama swimming and diving team on the opening day of the Southeastern Conference Championships.

In the only event on Monday, Chambers fought his way into the consolation finals on the 1m board via a 314.55 score for 14^th place in the preliminary round.

He would follow with a 264.45 performance in the B finals to finish 16^th overall.

In addition to Chambers, Colten Cryer scored points for the Tide as he finished in 21^st place with 281.65 points.

• Alabama returns to action tomorrow to compete in the mile and women’s 1m springboard at 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. CT, respectively
