Nol. 6 Softball Begins 12-Game Homestand with Louisiana on Tuesday Night

TALLAHASSEE –  The No. 6 Florida State softball team (8-2) will return home on Tuesday night to face Louisiana (6-3). First pitch is set for 6 p.m. on ACCNX with Shawn Davison (Play By Play) and Brandon Reichert (Color) on the call. 

Tuesday will mark the first of 12-consecutive home games for the Seminoles. Following Tuesday, FSU will host No. 12 Alabama, Dartmouth and Elon for the Dugout Club Classic this weekend.

Louisiana enters Tuesday 6-3 with losses to Jacksonville State, Ole Miss and Prairie View A&M. Louisiana did pick up a P4 win over Ole Miss on Saturday afternoon. Offensively, Louisiana is led by Haley Hart who is hitting .481 with three home runs and 12 RBI and also Lily Knox who is hitting .450 with two home runs and 10 RBI. In the circle, Julianne Tipton has pitched 15 innings with a 2.33 ERA to lead the Ragin’ Cajuns. Louisiana has also got great production from Lexie Delbrey who has posted a 2.74 ERA in 15.1 innings. 

Clearwater Invitational Notes

  • Florida State went 2-2 in Clearwater with wins over No. 7 UCLA and RV FAU. FSU fell to No. 1 Texas Tech and No. 3 Tennessee.
  • FSU’s 11 runs against UCLA were the most the program has scored against a top 10 opponent since putting up 12 runs against No. 3 UCLA in the 2018 WCWS.
  • FSU got great production from the top four spots of the lineup. Isa Torres, Marin Heller, Jaysoni Beachum and Marin Heller went a combined 20-for-56 (.357) with 16 of FSU’s 23 RBI. Against UCLA, Torres, Heller, Beachum and Danley drove in all 11 runs for the Noles and were 11-for-15 in the game. 
  • In the win over FAU, 9 out of FSU’s 13 hits came from true freshmen and 7 out of FSU’s 9 RBI came from true freshmen. 
  • Isa Torres and Jaysoni Beachum led the Noles offensively as they drove in 10 out of FSU’s 23 runs in Clearwater. Torres hit .429 with four RBI and a homer while Beachum with .364 with two homers and six RBI. 
  • Against UCLA, Beachum went 3-for-3 with two home runs and five RBI. It was Beachum’s third multi-home run game of her career, and she tied her career high with five RBI. 
  • Anna Hinde also had a good weekend for the Noles hitting .455 with one home run and two RBI. 
  • In the circle, Jazzy Francik led the way with two wins over No. 7 UCLA and RV FAU. Francik pitched 10 total innings with appearances against No. 1 Texas Tech, No. 7 UCLA and RV FAU. Francik allowed four earned runs on nine hits in those 10 innings. 

Season Notes

  • FSU was picked to win the ACC for the 12th time in the last 13 seasons.
  • FSU is ranked No. 6 in the USA Softball/ESPN.com Top 25 Poll and No. 7 in the NFCA/GoRout Top 25 poll. 
  • Head Coach Lonni Alameda is in her 18th season at Florida State and 23rd season as a Division I head coach. 
  • FSU has won a combined  37 ACC Tournament and Regular Season Championships which is the most conference titles in the entire country. 
  • FSU had an ACC-leading five players on the Preseason All-ACC Team. Jaysoni Beachum, Ashtyn Danley, Jazzy Francik, Kennedy Harp and Isa Torres all made the Preseason All-ACC Team. No other ACC program had more than three selections. 
  • FSU returns two NFCA All-Americans from 2025 in Isa Torres (First Team) and Kennedy Harp (Second Team).
  • FSU returns four All-ACC players from 2025 in Isa Torres, Ashtyn Danley, Jazzy Francik and Kennedy Harp
  • FSU is one of two programs (FSU and Virginia) to not have a transfer on its roster. 
  • FSU brings in nine true freshmen which was ranked the No. 3 overall class in the country by On3. Bella Ruggiero is also a redshirt freshman who was ranked the No. 13 overall player in the 2023 class by On3.
  • FSU returns the top two pitchers in the ACC as Jazzy Francik (1.51) and Ashtyn Danley (1.60) had the two lowest ERA’s in the ACC last season. 
  • Isa Torres broke the school record last season for batting average as the sophomore hit .436 in 2025.
