  • No. 7/16 Georgia looks to improve upon last season’s fourth-place finishes at the SEC Championships held in Athens. The Bulldogs return two SEC male medalists from last season: 200-yard butterfly champion Luca Urlando and 200y freestyle runner-up Tomas Koski.
  • Urlando enters the SEC Championships with the nation’s fastest time in the 200y butterfly, an American Record mark of 1:36.41 set in November. Urlando is also the No. 2 seed in the 100y butterfly with a time of 43.87. He has won five SEC championships in his collegiate career, including three in the 200 fly. He has also prevailed in 15 consecutive collegiate 200 fly races dating back to October 2022.
  • Freshman Kennedi Dobson has immediately made her mark as a Bulldog, entering the program top 10 in six different events. She enters Knoxville ranked second nationally and in conference in both the 500y freestyle and 1,650y freestyle. The Bulldog women have dominated the 500y freestyle, posting a podium finish in 17 of the past 20 seasons, including 13 titles. Additionally, the women’s 800y freestyle relay holds the top seed and will look for its 26th podium finish in the past 28 years.
  • Senior Ruard van Renen is looking for his first podium finish, holding the No. 2 seed in the 100y backstroke and the No. 3 seed in the 100y butterfly. Koski ranks third in the 200y freestyle and fifth in the 500y freestyle, while sophomore Drew Hitchcock is fourth in the 200y butterfly and 400y IM. Other men’s contenders for A finals will include seniors Cale Martter and Sam Powe, sophomore Elliot Woodburn, and freshmen Sean Green, Finn Hammer, and Hayden Meyers.
  • On the women’s side, freshman Clarke Neace provides depth in the mile with the No. 5 seed, while fellow first year Elizabeth Nawrocki ranks third in the 200y breaststroke. Senior Ieva Maluka enters SECs with the fourth seed in the 400y IM, sixth seed in the 200y butterfly, and the eighth seed in the 200y IM. Fellow senior Shea Furse and sophomore Marie Landreneau have previously reached championship finals and will look to do so again this year.
  • In diving, junior Matthew Bray will look to improve upon his impressive performance in the 2025 championships. Last season, Bray finished fifth on 3-meter and 13th on 1-meter, providing valuable points to the Bulldog men. For the women, junior Michelle Cummo will make her SEC Championship debut, having already qualified this season on both springboards.
