Noles Travel to No.9/9 Louisville on Sunday
TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women’s basketball team (9-16, 4-9 ACC) will hit the road to face No.9/9 Louisville (23-4, ACC) on Sunday at the KFC Yum! Center at 6 p.m.
The Seminoles and Cardinals are tied in the series, 19-19, which dates back to the 1978-79 season.
Florida State is led by Sole Williams, who ranks top 10 in the ACC with a scoring average of 15.4 points per game.
The Seminoles rank second in the league in three-pointers per game at 8.4, led by Jasmine Shavers, who has sank 47 on the season. FSU ranks in the top five nationally in blocks per game at 5.0 and are one of 14 teams to have three players with 20 or more blocks this season, led by Pania Davis, who has 29.
The game will air on the ACC Network with Jenn Hildreth and Kelly Gramlich on the call. The Seminole Sport Network will air on 96.5 The Spear, featuring Jack Kavovit and Melissa Bruner.
The Last Time Out
The Seminoles had four players contribute double figures in the 85-76 win over Boston College, led by Williams, who scored 23 points after shooting 10-of-13 from the floor. It was her sixth 20-point game of the season.
Jasmine Shavers managed her second double-double of the season, scoring 18 points and leading the team with 10 rebounds. Shavers converted three three-pointers for the second time this week, stretching her season total to 47.
Amaya Bonner also contributed 18 points, finishing 5-of-8 from the floor. She delivered six rebounds, tying her career high, and dished five assists. Pania Davis was the fourth Seminole in double digits, scoring 11 points.
FSU registered nine blocks on the night, the most in an ACC game this season, led by Tatum Greene, who tied her career high with four. Greene added seven points and seven rebounds.
