Samuel Ogazi Named SEC Men’s Runner of the Week
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama track and field’s Samuel Ogazi was named the Southeastern Conference Men’s Runner of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. Ogazi is the third UA student-athlete to earn weekly conference recognition in as many weeks.
Ogazi captured the men’s 400-meter title in his event-season debut at last weekend’s New Mexico Collegiate Classic, breaking the facility record with a personal-best time of 44.85 (44.96a). The reigning outdoor national champion’s time ranks No. 2 on this year’s world list, No. 13 all-time in the event and No. 2 in Alabama program history.
