TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women’s tennis team (2-5) fell to No. 22 Texas Tech (7-1) 4-0 and Arizona (6-3) 4-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Arnhold Tennis Center in Santa Barbara, California.

Florida State continued singles play against Texas Tech following Friday night’s doubles session. The Red Raiders held a 1-0 lead to begin the day. Texas Tech took a 2-0 advantage following a retirement on Court 2.

The Red Raiders earned two more victories on Courts 4 and 6 to clinch the match. Cade Cricchio was tied 1-1 on Court 5 when the match concluded.

The Seminoles continued the day playing a full dual match against Arizona.

Arizona opened the match earning a doubles victory on Court 3. Eva Shaw and Abby Kelliher responded for the Seminoles, earning a 6-4 victory on Court 2. Laura Putz and Tina Li clinched the doubles point for the Noles, earning a 6-4 victory on Court 1.

The Wildcats earned singles victories on Courts 1, 2, 3 and 4 to clinch the match, Cricchio was tied 4-4 and Li was in her third set when the match concluded.

Florida State returns to action next Sunday, February 15 at Old Dominion.
