Treadwell Leads Noles with Double-Double at NC State

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Florida State women’s basketball team (7-16, 2-9 ACC) fell to NC State (16-7, 9-3 ACC) at Reynolds Coliseum on Thursday night, 83-55.
 
Florida State was led by Avery Treadwell and Jasmine Shavers in scoring.  Treadwell contributed her first career double-double with 12 points and a career-high 12 rebounds, while Shavers contributed 10 points and four steals. Treadwell also added a pair of blocks. 
 
In addition to Treadwell on the boards, Tatum Greene added nine, while also contributing eight points and three blocks. Sole Williams led the team with four assists, adding nine points. 

In the first, the Seminoles started with a pair of three-pointers from Williams and Shavers, but the Wolfpack used a 11-0 run to pull ahead. Allie Kubek cashed in a third three, but NC State kept the lead after the first, 34-11 and would take the 52-23 advantage into halftime.

 

The Seminoles continued to work in the third, as Treadwell hit the first four points of the half.  FSU pieced together a 7-0 stretch later in the quarter and finished outscoring the Wolfpack, 20-16.  NC State led 68-43 after the third.

 

In the fourth, Williams, Emma Risch and Tatum Greene contributed the full 10 minutes as Williams led in scoring with four points. Treadwell added four boards as FSU finished the half outscoring NC State 32-31.
