Marianyela Jiménez Signs with Querétaro FC
TALLAHASSEE – Florida State soccer fifth-year midfielder Marianyela Jiménez has signed with Querétaro FC of Liga MX Femenil, the club announced on Thursday.
In two seasons at FSU, Jiménez helped the Seminoles win a national title in 2025 and an ACC Tournament crown in 2024.
Jiménez is one of several Florida State players to sign professionally this offseason after the team won their fifth NCAA championship in early December. She is joined in Liga MX Femenil by senior forward Giana Riley (Club América), while senior defender Heather Gilchrist (Bay FC), junior defender Jordynn Dudley (Gotham FC), junior midfielder Yuna McCormack (Denver Summit), junior defender Mimi Van Zanten (San Diego Wave), sophomore midfielder/forward Taylor Suarez (Angel City FC), sophomore forward Solai Washington (Orlando Pride) and freshman goalkeeper Evan O’Steen (Seattle Reign) all signed in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
“We are so happy for Mari,” FSU head coach Brian Pensky said. “She’s been such an important part of our team these last two seasons, leaving with an ACC Championship, an NCAA Championship and her college degree! Mari has a bright future as both a club player and with the Venezuelan national team.”
A native of Puerto Cabella, Venezuela, Jiménez played in 33 games with nine starts in her two-year FSU career. She scored four goals with nine assists for 17 points in nearly 1,300 minutes. Jiménez registered 34 shots, 15 on goal. The NAIA National Player of the Year at William Carey, Jiménez has scored 50 collegiate goals with 39 assists.
As a fifth-year in 2025, Jiménez played in 17 games with three starts. In 521 minutes, she registered five assists, tied for third-most on the team, for five points with six shots. One of Jiménez’s assists was a game-winner.
A member of the Venezuelan National Team, Jiménez started all three games at the 2024 U-20 World Cup.
