Women’s Swim & Dive Signs Bomin Kim

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Women’s Swim & Dive has signed Bomin Kim of Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, to the Gators’ 2026–27 roster.
 
An international representative for South Korea, Bomin is a freestyle and IM specialist. Most recently, she competed at the 22nd World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, placing 19th in the 400 IM prelims (4:51.55) and posting a 2:01.22 split on the 4×200 free relay.
 
“Bomin will add great depth to our team in the middle-distance events,” said Associate Head Coach Kristin Walker. “Her excitement over being a gator is contagious and we are excited to have her join us this fall!”
 
Bomin advanced to finals in multiple events at the 2024 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Canberra, Australia as a member of Team South Korea. She placed seventh in the 400m free (4:18.33), 11th in the 200m free (2:02.04) and 16th in the 200 IM (2:20.93).
 
She began her international career at the 8th FINA World Junior Swimming Championships in Lima, Peru before returning the following year at the 9th World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships in Netanya, Israel. In Netanya, Bomin finished 25th in the 200m free (2:05.18), 16th in the 800m free (8:55.87) and 13th in the 400m IM (4:53.49).
 
Bomin is the fourth freshman for the Gators’ 2026-27 season as the women signed two freshmen in November and Maelin Bessard last month.
