TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men’s tennis team (3-4) split a doubleheader on Sunday, sweeping Alabama State (2-3) in a 4-0 victory after falling earlier in the day to Samford (2-2), 4-3.

The day was highlighted by Matic Kriznik, who captured a pair of singles and doubles victories to go undefeated throughout the day. Kriznik, alongside teammate Vit Kalina, took the first doubles win in both matches as the No. 66-ranked duo paced paired play. In his first weekend playing for the Tide, Yoshka Sborowsky won his first and second matches with Alabama as he secured a win against the Bulldogs and Hornets.

Match Notes 

• Matic Kriznik and Vit Kalina captured the opening doubles win in both matches as the duo dropped just three games to Samford and captured an exciting 7-6 (7) tiebreaker victory against Alabama State
• With their second win in three matches as a duo, Yoshka Sborowsky and Andrii Zimnokh secured the doubles point against Alabama State
• Kriznik went undefeated in singles play, capturing his fourth and fifth wins in dual play
• Zimnokh secured a perfect 2-0 mark at the No. 1 spot in singles as he took an impressive 6-1, 6-3 win against the Bulldogs and a commanding 6-1, 6-0, victory over the Hornets
