PALOS VERDES, Calif. – The No. 6 Florida women’s golf team completed the opening round and are sitting in 5th place at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge on Sunday at Palos Verdes Golf Club. 

Florida had team round of 292 (+8) as No. 23 UCLA (-2) leads the field that features nine top-25 teams with ahead of UF featuring No. 7 Texas A&M (+2), No. 9 Pepperdine (+3) and No. 11 Texas (+3).

Round two and ‘Moving Day’ continues tomorrow with tee times starting at 12 p.m. ET. Tuesday’s final round is slated for an 11:15 a.m. start time.

Inés Archer had the low round for the Gators in round one with a 72 (+1) behind her bogey-free and 1-under back nine. After back-to-back bogeys on four and five, she made two birdies, 10 pars and only one bogey. She sits tied for 17th. 

Both freshman Katelyn Huber and Megan Propeck are tied for 24th after each had an opening round of 73 (+2).  One shot behind and rounding out the counting scores was sophomore Siuue Wu at a 74 (+3) in T36.

Today’s non-counting score came from Paula Francisco (T51) with a 76 (+4) while competing as an individual for the week, Addison Klonowski is tied for 58th and shot a 77 (+5)
