No. T3 Florida Gymnastics Closes January With Big Score in Win versus No. 6 Arkansas

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — No. T3 Florida gymnastics closed January with a statement Friday night, posting the nation’s second-highest score of the season to defeat No. 6 Arkansas in a Southeastern Conference showdown before a season-high crowd of 8,069 at Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.
 
Florida’s 198.05 equals the second-highest total of 2026. The Razorbacks finished with a 195.975.
 
The meet paired two of the SEC’s seven teams currently ranked in the national top 10, reflecting the depth of the league and the heightened difficulty of conference competition. Florida rose to the challenge, winning four event titles and controlling the meet from start to finish.
 
Sophomore Skye Blakely delivered a breakout performance, turning in collegiate-best scores on all three of her events. She claimed her second consecutive floor exercise title with a meet-high 9.975 and added shared victories on uneven bars (9.95) with Selena Harris-Miranda and balance beam (9.95) with Kayla DiCello.
 
Arkansas’ Morgan Price earned the Razorbacks’ lone event title, winning vault with a 9.925.
 
Florida also dominated the all-around in its first appearances of the season from Harris-Miranda and eMjae Frazier. Harris-Miranda posted a winning total of 39.675, followed closely by Frazier’s 39.575 to complete a one-two finish for the Gators.
 
TONIGHT’S MEET

Florida opened the meet with a solid vault rotation of 49.375. DiCello led off the lineup with a season-best 9.90 and fellow All-American Harris-Miranda matched that mark in the anchor position. Two others posted season bests of 9.875 – Skylar Draser and Frazier who was making her season debut on the event.
 
The Gators nearly matched their national high uneven bars total of 49.625 set a week ago, posting a 49.60 tonight. Boosting that total was winning marks of 9.95 from Florida’s final two competitions – Blakely and Harris-Miranda. Frazier led off the lineup by matching her season bests of 9.90 and DiCello earned her season best of 9.925.

Florida led the Razorbacks by 0.525 at the midway point.
 

Blakely posted another collegiate best of 9.95 on the next rotation to share the balance beam win with DiCello, marking a season-best for DiCello. Frazier earned a season-high 9.95 and Harris-Miranda earned a 9.925 in her season floor debut.

Florida finished with a season-best 49.575 on floor, led by Blakely’s meet-high 9.975 for her final collegiate-best mark of the evening. Two more season bests came from Frazier (9.95) and Harris-Miranda (9.925), who was making her season debut on the event.

GATOR PERFORMANCE NOTES:

  • Three teams have posted 198-plus totals this season – Oklahoma (198.425), Florida and LSU (198.05). These totals have all come in the last two weeks of January.

  • Have Yourself a Night Skye Blakely: All three events competed Friday earned collegiate best marks to win at least a share of each event title:

    • Bars: 9.95 (equals collegiate best)

    • Beam: 9.95 (set collegiate best)

    • Floor: 9.975 (set collegiate best)

                Blakely added beam and floor to her competitive slate this season. As a freshman last season, she was limited to uneven bars as she recovered from a ruptured Achilles suffered during the final day of podium training at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials.

  • Selena Harris-Miranda wins her season all-around debut for the second-consecutive season. Last year, she claimed the first of four all-around wins at then No. 2 LSU with 39.50. Tonight, Harris-Miranda won her 17th all-around title of career at 39.675. Her bars win was No. 16 of her collegiate career.

  • Kayla DiCello turned in a trio of season-bests tonight. Her beam win was the fourth of her career – and first since she also used a 9.95 to win the 2023 NCAA Pittsburgh Regional Second Round title.

    After her SEC Freshman of the Year campaign in 2023, DiCello took a gap year to pursue a spot on the 2024 U.S. Olympic team. A ruptured Achilles suffered during the Olympic Trials sidelined her for the 2025 season.
