Fullbrook Leads Seminoles Through Opening Day of Collegiate Invitational

Last Updated: January 30, 2026By

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Florida State sophomore Sophia Fullbrook is in a tie for seventh place in the individual standings, and the No. 28 ranked Seminole women’s golf team is in a tie for second place in the team standings after the first day of the Collegiate Invitational at the Guadalajara Country Club. The 12-team field played 27 of 54 holes on day one, and will complete the remaining 27 holes on Saturday.

Carmen Lim of Washington is the individual leader after the first round of play. She has a 7 under par score through the first 27 holes of play. No. 19 Oklahoma State is one over par after first 27 holes of the championship and hold the team lead entering the second round of play. The Cowgirls hold a five-stroke lead over Florida State and Tulsa.

Florida State begins play on Saturday looking to win the team championship of the Collegiate Invitational for the third consecutive season.

A victory for Florida State in the Collegiate Invitational would mark the second time in program history the Seminoles would have won the same tournament in three consecutive seasons. The Seminoles won the LSU Fairwood Invitational in 1987, 1988 and 1989.

“We did a good job of working the winter kinks out today,” said head coach Amy Bond. “Each of the girls did a really good job on stretches of holes that I think they can gain confidence from.

“We made way too many bogies today and we have to turn that around tomorrow. I’m hopeful that we will be more strategic with some of our decision-making and execute better wedge shots. We are hoping the lid on the cup opens up earlier than it did today.”

Fulbrook carded an even par score of 72 in round one and finished the first nine holes of the second round with a 1 under par score of 35. She punctuated her first day with an eagle 3 on the par five hole No. 9. She totaled five birdies on her way to her 1 under par score. Fullbrook was never more than one stroke over par during either round of play.

Sophomore Elin Pudas Remler carded scores of 70 and 39 for a 27-hole total of 109. She was in a tie for eighth place following her first round score of 2 under par 70. She carded three birdies and was two under par on her back nine in the first round.

Freshman Haruhi Nakatani and sophomore Alexandra Gazzoli are tied for 28th place with 27-hole scores of four over par 112.
