STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Alabama men’s tennis team (2-2) fell in a 4-2 consolation match to Santa Clara (3-1) on Saturday, concluding its time at the ITA Kickoff Weekend.

Despite the loss, Matic Kriznik and Vit Kalina went undefeated during the day’s events as the duo captured both a singles and doubles victory.

Match Notes

  • The No. 66-ranked team of Vit Kalina and Matic Kriznik captured the first win of the day, claiming a near perfect score of 6-1 against their foes on court two
  • Kriznik followed with the first singles win of the day, dominating his matchup on court two against Luca Lemaitre 6-1, 6-0
  • Santa Clara would win on court six but Vit Kalina’s 6-2, 6-4 victory at the No. 3 spot evened the overall match score at 2-2
