TALLAHASSEE – Florida State soccer sophomore forward Solai Washington has signed with the Orlando Pride of the National Women’s Soccer League, the club announced on Monday.

Washington helped FSU win a national championship in 2025 and an ACC Tournament title in 2024. She earned Academic All-District honors this season and ACC All-Freshman Team accolades last year.

Washington is one of several Florida State players to sign professionally this offseason after the team won their fifth NCAA championship in early December. She is joined in the NWSL by senior defender Heather Gilchrist (Bay FC), junior midfielder Yuna McCormack (Denver Summit), junior defender Mimi Van Zanten (San Diego Wave), sophomore midfielder/forward Taylor Suarez (Angel City FC) and freshman goalkeeper Evan O’Steen (Seattle Reign), while senior forward Giana Riley (Club América) signed in Liga MX Femenil.

“We look forward to following Solai as she begins her professional career,” FSU head coach Brian Pensky said. “Orlando is getting a wonderful young woman, who will do everything in her power to become a top pro.”

Washington was recognized on the ACC All-Freshmen Team and the All-ACC Academic Team in 2024. She was named to the Academic All-District Team by Collegiate Sports Communicators in 2025 as a sophomore.

From Atlanta, Washington played in 35 games with 25 starts and logged more than 1,700 minutes, primarily as a forward, in her two seasons as a Seminole. From 2024-25, she scored eight goals with four assists for 20 points and had 77 shots, 38 on goal. Three of her eight goals were game winners.

In her sophomore campaign in 2025, Washington appeared in 18 games with nine starts. She scored two goals, both game-winners, with two assists for six points. Washington registered 34 shots and 14 shots on goal in 842 minutes.

Internationally for Jamaica, Washington made three appearances at the 2023 World Cup.
