TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women’s tennis team defeated North Alabama, 4-0, and Jackson State, 7-0, in a doubleheader sweep Friday. The Crimson Tide (2-0) claimed the doubles point in both matches and went undefeated in completed singles play on the day.

“We performed well today in our first team matches of the spring. Our singles play was strong, and we need to keep building on these competitions to improve as a team. We’re excited about our match tomorrow against a solid Arkansas State team. Roll Tide!”

Match Notes vs. North Alabama

• Kristina Paskauskas and Karla Bartel opened doubles play with a 6-2 win on court one against UNA’s Eeva Ristola and Farah Asaad
• Addison Bowman and Amina Salibayeva followed with a 6-3 victory over Emma Ansorge and Mathilde Delaney on court three to clinch the first point for Alabama
• In singles play, Bartel gave the Tide a 2-0 advantage with a straight-set win on court four, 6-1, 6-1, after downing the Lions’ Sammie Schouten
• Salibayeva defeated Asaad to add another point for UA on court six (6-1, 6-1)
• Maria Andrienko clinched the match on court three with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over UNA’s Delaney
• Three singles matches, on courts one, two and five, were left unfinished after Alabama secured the fourth point

Match Notes vs. Jackson State

• The Crimson Tide also took the doubles point in its second match with wins on courts three and one
• Both Bowman and Salibayeva as well as Paskauskas and Bartel shut out their opponents, 6-0
• Bowman opened singles play with a dominant two-set, 6-0, 6-0, win over JSU’s Isabella Benavides on court four
• Paskauskas (6-0, 6-1), Salibayeva (6-1, 6-3), Mary Sidelnyk (6-3, 6-0) and Klara Milicevic (6-0, 6-2) followed Bowman with straight-set victories on courts one, five, six and two, respectfully
• Andrienko closed out the sweep for Alabama on court three after downing Mariia Lordanova, 7-5, 6-0
