Gators Men’s Tennis Opens Season with Hidden Dual

Last Updated: January 8, 2026By

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Gators Men’s Tennis program opens their spring season with a series of hidden dual matches hosted at Evert Tennis Academy.

The team opens the season ranked at No. 9 in the SEC Coaches Poll. Four other schools will be taking part in the dual meet including Michigan, Illinois, Arizona and Clemson. Three of the four schools are all ranked in the top-25 (Arizona – No. 11, Illinois – No. 24 and Clemson – No. 25) by the ITA giving the Gators a great look at some nonconference competition in the season ahead.

The hidden dual will consist of matches played in a dual format, but is not played to completion to count towards the team’s overall record. This can come in the form of playing in tandem with other members of other teams to fill out the six courts.

Friday’s matches will begin with doubles play at noon, with Florida playing singles with Illinois against Clemson at 3 p.m. EST. For Saturday, doubles will start at 10 a.m. EST and the Gators will play against opponents from both Illinois and Michigan at 1 p.m. EST. Finally, on Sunday the Gators will begin with doubles at 10 a.m. EST and will face off against opponents from Arizona at 1 p.m. EST to conclude the weekend.
