On December 23rd, Lennys Cotto and Joe Trejo were arrested in Okaloosa County for sex trafficking of two juvenile females.

The investigation stems from the arrest of Cotto and Trejo in May 2025. During the investigation, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Unit, along with the Major Crimes Unit, observed signs of Human Trafficking. Investigators identified and interviewed the two victims, a witness, and reviewed electronic devices that contained evidence of Human Trafficking.

Through the evidence gathered, investigators were able to link Cotto and Trejo to the sex trafficking of the two juveniles at local bars and through social media applications.

The juvenile females are currently in safe, undisclosed locations, and they are receiving the necessary victim services.
