GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida soccer head coach Nick Zimmerman announced that Aidan Jones has joined the Gators staff as the program’s video analyst.

In his role, Jones will use advanced video analysis software and tools to support player development, scout opponents and contribute to the creation of game and training strategies.

Jones comes to Florida after serving as Mississippi State’s video analyst beginning in the 2023 season.

He also brings experience from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla, where he coached during the summers of 2023 and 2022. In addition, Jones spent eight months beginning in July 2022 assisting the USL Women’s Professional Super League in Tampa, Fla, where he helped identify talent and supported several key initiatives. His responsibilities included collecting and analyzing data for USL sporting strategy, contributing to scouting networks for the Academy and W League, assisting with research projects related to operational policies and standards, and helping develop best practices for W League clubs.

Jones was head coach of the Tupelo Futbol Club beginning in May 2022, working with multiple age groups, running technical training sessions and supporting overall club development.

A native of Sunnyvale, Calif, Jones also coached with the Sunnyvale Alliance Soccer Club during the summer of 2022 and for four years beginning in 2017.

Jones earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2025. He holds Soccer Performance Analyst License from CONMEBOL and a Football Association Talent Identification Level 1 credential.
