Two Gators Collect Four Freshman All-SEC Honors
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Vernell Brown III and Jayden Woods collected four Freshman All-SEC Team honors between the two of them for their performances in all aspects of the games. Brown collected three honors on special teams and offense while Woods collected the Gators only SEC honors on defense.
With these honors, Florida has a league leading 115 Freshman All-SEC honors and has had 14 total since 2022.

Brown excelled as one of Florida’s top receivers on the year, earning him a nod for a Freshman All-SEC Team honor for wide receiver, as well as for all purpose and return specialist. This marks the first time in the Gators program that a freshman collected three All-SEC honors and he is one of five players in the SEC to do so with the last being Barion Brown from Kentucky in 2022.
Brown made an appearance in 10 games this season with six starts at wide receiver, leading the team with 40 catches for 512 yards. Throughout most of the season, he also served as the Gators’ primary punt and kick returner, earning 261 yards. Brown also ranked fifth in the nation among true freshmen and second among true freshmen wide receivers in all-purpose yards with 773 yards.

Woods appeared in all 12 games for the Gators and logged starts against No. 5 Georgia and Florida State. He collected 28 tackles, 3.5 sacks for 23 yards, 5.0 TFLs for 28 yards, an interception, one pass break up, two quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery. Woods closed out the season co-leading the team with sacks (3.5) and was third on the team in TFLs (5.0) and interceptions (1).
