Last Updated: December 3, 2025By

ATHENS, GA. — The Georgia Bulldog Club (TGBC) has officially launched the 2026 Steve Webber Baseball Fund (SWBF) campaign and baseball season ticket application process for the upcoming year at Foley Field. The deadline to submit a SWBF contribution and 2026 baseball season ticket request or renewal application is January 6, 2026.

The UGA Athletic Association is pleased to announce that the Georgia Baseball Fund is being renamed the Steve Webber Baseball Fund in recognition of Coach Webber’s incredible impact on UGA Baseball. During his 16-year tenure as head coach of UGA Baseball from 1981 to 1996, Coach Webber tallied 500 victories. A native Iowan and graduate of Southern Illinois University, Webber took a pair of Bulldog teams to Omaha for the College World Series (CWS), which marked the first two appearances for the program in school history. In 1990, Coach Webber’s team earned the first national championship for the Southeastern Conference in baseball. Webber was named SEC Coach of the Year in 1987 and National Coach of the Year in 1990. In 2018, Coach Webber was inducted into UGA’s Circle of Honor.

Georgia Baseball enters the 2026 season led by Ike Cousins head baseball coach Wes Johnson. In just two seasons Johnson has guided the Bulldogs to one of the best records in Georgia Baseball history, highlighted by NCAA Tournament appearances and program records set in the newly renovated Foley Field.

The Bulldogs finished 2025 with a 43-17 record and climbed as high as No. 1 nationally in the Baseball America rankings, the program’s first time at the top since 2008. Georgia returns a strong offensive core, including Tre Phelps, Kolby Branch and Daniel Jackson, while adding one of the nation’s top-ranked recruiting and transfer classes. With additions of elite talent on the mound and at the plate, the Bulldogs are poised to field a competitive program for the upcoming season.
