Walton – Okaloosa Counties Construction Traffic Advisory

Walton County – 11/21/25 – Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Okaloosa and Walton counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities. All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.

** In preparation for the Thanksgiving Day holiday weekend, there will be no lane closures or other activities that impede traffic on major state roads beginning at 12 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26 and ending at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30.

Walton County:

• U.S. 331 Resurfacing from south of I-10 to U.S. 90 – Drivers will encounter intermittent and alternating lane closures, between Bruce Avenue and U.S. 90, Monday, Dec. 1 through Thursday, Dec. 4, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving operations. Additionally, the U.S. 331 northbound middle-turn lane is temporarily closed at the U.S. 90 intersection. One U.S. 331 northbound left-turn lane and one right-turn lane are available to access U.S. 90.

Okaloosa County:

• Brooks Bridge Replacement Project – Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures, Sunday, Nov. 23 through Tuesday, Nov. 25, and Monday, Dec. 1 through Thursday, Dec. 4, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for construction activities at the following locations:

Santa Rosa Boulevard from U.S. 98 to Ross Marler Park. Signage and traffic flaggers will be in place to safely direct drivers through the work zone.

U.S. 98 from Ferry Road to Pier Road.

• I-10 Eastbound Rest Area and Truck Parking Improvement Project – The truck parking at the I-10 eastbound rest area, at mile marker 59, is temporarily closed for a 120-day period and is scheduled to reopen in mid-February 2026. During construction, passenger vehicle parking and rest area facilities will remain open.

• U.S. 98 Resurfacing from Santa Rosa County Line to west of Josie Road – Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, Dec. 1, through Thursday, Dec. 4 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for shoulder work.
