KENNESAW, Ga. – The No. 7/6 Florida Lacrosse Team (6-2) scored 17 goals in the first half as they cruise past the Kennesaw State Owls (5-4) on Saturday afternoon.
 
11 different Gators scored against Kennesaw State, with Clark Hamilton leading the Gators, and all goal scorers with four goals, as Ryann Frechette, Frannie Hahn, and Ava Tighe each recorded a hat trick. Jenny Woodings recorded six draw controls and Jameson Swords recorded three caused turnovers for the Gators’ defense.
 
The Owls were led by Lexi Tinker who had three goals and two assists for five points as Cybella Smith registered seven saves in cage.
 
How It Happened
FIRST QUARTER (Gators 10, Owls 1)

• The Gators would strike first, with Gabby Greene (14:16) and Caroline Hoskins (13:33), scoring the first two goals of the game.
• Lexi Tinker of Kennesaw State would get one back for the Owls, scoring her first of three on the day, at 13:29.
• Florida would end the first quarter with an 8-0 run to take command of the game and take a 10-1 lead in the second quarter. The goals would come from Clark Hamilton (11:11, 0:59), Ava Tighe (10:12, 4:39), Frannie Hahn (9:46, 3:51), Autumn Blair (3:28), and Gabby Greene (1:30).

 
SECOND QUARTER (Gators 17, Owls 2)

 
THIRD QUARTER (Gators 19, Owls 5)

• Florida scored the first two goals of the second half, from Ryann Frechette (11:42) and Molly Doran (8:21).
• The Owls would get three back in the final 6:32 of the third quarter, one from Lexi Tinker, one from Lavona Watkins, and one from Jordyn Olivo.

 
FOURTH QUARTER (Gators 22, Owls 7)

• The fourth quarter would be another low scoring quarter as Carly Wilson (13:59) and Ryann Frechette (12:19, 6:36) would get the three Gator goals in the final frame.
• Sarah Walden and Marleigh Belinfanti would score for the Owls in the fourth as the Gators would win 22-7

 
Key Notes

• The Gators won the draw control battle 21-10, making this the third consecutive game they have won more draw controls than the other team.
• Two Gators scored their first goal of the season against Kennesaw State, Ryann Frechette and Carly Wilson each scored their first goal of the season. Jameson Swords, Emma Sweeny, and Caroline Hoskins each recorded their first caused turnovers of their careers against Kennesaw State.
• Frechette’s hat trick set a new career high, her previous being one goal which happened four times last season, and Ava Tighe’s hat trick tied a career high, which last happened at Colorado last year.
• The Gators once again went perfect on the clear, 14-14, which is the fifth time this season they have not failed a clear in a game.
• The Gators’ 30 shots on goal are the second time this season they have fired at least 30 shots on goal. Florida recorded 33 shots on goal against Stetson.
• Clark Hamilton’s four goals puts her at 31 goals on the season, more than have way to her 55-goal total last year. Her current pace of 3.875 goals per game is more than goals per game she finished with last year of 2.39.
• This is the second game this season where 11 Gators scored (29-9 W vs Mercer) and the third straight game where four Gators recorded a hat trick (Clark Hamilton with 4, Frannie Hahn, Ryann Frechette and Ava Tighe with 3).
