TALLAHASSEE – The No. 7 Seminoles extend their win streak by defeating two ranked opponents at day one of the Florida Atlantic Beach Invitational, No. 13 FAU (4-1) and No. 3 USC (3-2). 

FSU took all three first sets against the Owls with scores at 21-18, 23-21, and 21-16. Myriah Massey and Bailey Higgins made quick work on court five, jumping ahead more than five points in each set to secure the first dual point. Courts two and four began playing after Iane Henke and Kenzie Hultquist won in set three to seal the match (23-21, 21-23, 15-11).  

The Noles went on to face the Trojans, with Alexis Durish and Audrey Koenig scoring the first dual point at 21-14, 21-16 on court one. Courts three and five went into third sets, with Gella Andrew and Maddie Trusty adding FSU’s second dual point with a 15-10 victory on the third.  

Victories from opening day of the Florida Atlantic Invite bring the Seminoles to 13 wins, a .929 win-percentage, and four ranked opponent takedowns for the season.  

Day two for Florida State will bring matches against UTampa at 8 a.m. EST and No. 6 TCU at 12 p.m. EST. Live stats can be found on Seminoles.com.
