Coach Caryl’s Comments: “As it usually does, the indoor season went by quickly and here we are back at Nationals,” said Bulldog head coach Caryl Smith Gilbert.  “We will have a younger group in Fayetteville with seven true or redshirt freshmen so I’m excited to watch them on the biggest stage of the indoor season.  We also have 10 student-athletes who have competed at the NCAA Indoor Championships before so will count on them for leadership.  We are no strangers to this facility so now it’s time to show up when it counts, and I have confidence this group is built for the challenge.  GO DAWGS!”

Success At Recent NCAA Indoors: The Lady Bulldogs have finished in the top 10 at the NCAA Indoor Championships for 10 out of the last 12 completed indoor seasons (2020 season was canceled prior to Nationals because of the pandemic), including their run to a national championship in 2018.

The Georgia men have been in the top 10 for seven out of the last eight completed seasons, been in the top three four out of the last seven NCAA meets (2018, 2021, 2023, 2025) and scored their most points in meet history (40) with their record-setting runner-up finish in 2023 before taking second again in 2025.

What Dogs Advanced To NCAAs?: Georgia has 21 student-athletes who are seeded in the top 16 in 12 different events, which includes the alternates on the women and men’s 4x400m relays.

For the Lady Bulldogs, Jackson (60m), Redmond (60m), Hodge (60m, 200m), Dejanea Oakley (400m, 4x400m relay), Shaquena Foote (400m, 4x400m relay), Chelsi Williams (60m hurdles), Maddi Cooper (60m hurdles), Skylynn Townsend (triple jump), Nina Ndubuisi (shot put), Skylar Brazzell (4x400m relay), Vimbayi Maisvorewa(4x400m relay), Tianna Springer (4x400m relay) and Michelle Smith (4x400m relay) are in the field for Nationals.

On the men’s side, Simms (400m, 4x400m relay), Xai Ricks (4x400m relay), Mohamed Adoini (4x400m relay), Will Floyd (4x400m relay), Le’Ezra Brown (60m hurdles), Jack (high jump), Stephens (high jump) and Jayden Keys (long jump) will compete on the Arkansas campus.

A Glimpse At The 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships: The Georgia men and women combined for 72 points to each finish second at last year’s NCAA Championships, matching the best finish for the men in school history and top finale for the women since they won the national title in 2018.  For the Bulldog men, Floyd won the 400m crown and then combined with Shemar Chambers, Ricks and Ervin Pearson to finish first in the 4x400m relay to pace UGA’s 33-point scoring effort.

The Lady Bulldogs had Elena Kulichenko earn gold in the high jump and Oakley, Smith, Haley Tate and Aaliyah Butler collect a silver in the 4x400m relay on the way to UGA’s 39 points.  In addition, Butler finished her two laps in the 400m final and added eight points with a second-place finish.

What’s Next For The Bulldogs?: Following the NCAA Championships, the Bulldogs start their outdoor season a week later at the Yellow Jacket Invitational (Atlanta) on March 20-21.  Georgia will make its debut at the brand new UGA Track & Field Complex on the Spec Towns Track during the Spec Towns Invitational on April 9-11.
