No. 22 Florida Men’s Tennis Battles It Out in 4-3 Loss to No. 5 TCU
The Gators started up in doubles with a 6-3 win from Kevin Edengren and Andreas Timini on court three against Maximus Dussault and Oliver Bonding from TCU. Lorenzo Claverie and Pablo Perez Ramos fell to Cooper Woestendick and Albert Pedrico 6-4. No. 20 Henry Jefferson and Tanapatt Nirundorn made it a close fight against the No. 8 ranked Duncan Chan and Cosme Rolland De Ravel, but ultimately the Horned Frogs sealed the doubles point in a 7-5 victory.
The Gators made it a close battle in singles winning three of the six singles courts. Jeremy Jin secured the first point for Florida with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Albert Pedrico on court 4, marking his first win in singles since returning to the court. Nirundorn on court five fell in two sets, while Jefferson on court one lost in three sets. On court three, Ramos won a three-set battle against No. 41 Cooper Woestendick, going 4-6, 6-1, 6-4. Edengren followed with a three-set win of his own on court six against Maximus Dussault (6-2, 3-6, 6-4) to put the Gators even with the Horned Frogs at 3-3.
It all came down to a third-set tiebreaker on court two between Claverie and No. 9 Duncan Chan. Chan won the first set 6-2, with Claverie fighting back to win 6-3 in the second set. In the third set tiebreak, Chan outlasted the Gators fight, winning 7-6 (7-4) to win the match.
