Softball Walks Off Missouri to Secure Series Victory
With two outs in the 11th inning with Taylor Shumaker on first and Kendall Grover on second, Madison Walker delivered her biggest hit as a Gator so far, an RBI single to left field to drive in the game-winning run.
Jocelyn Erickson put Florida in the position to win with a solo shot in the bottom of the seventh inning that tied up the game at 3.
After giving up three solo home runs in the third inning, the Florida pitching staff was able to lock down the Missouri offense for the next eight innings.
Olivia Miller tossed 7.1 shutout innings, a new-career high, allowing just five hits with a pair of strikeouts.
Keagan Rothrock (13-1) got the final three outs of the game, picking up her second win of the weekend over Missouri.

- Florida has won eight straight SEC-opening series going back to 2019
- Under head coach Tim Walton, the Gators have won all but three of its SEC-opening series in 21 seasons

- Erickson caught the Tigers stealing in the top of the fourth on Saturday and Ella Wesolowski ended the top of the fifth on Sunday with a runner trying to steal second
- Madison Walker now has two walk-off hits in her career
- As a freshman at Missouri, Walker hit an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning vs. Omaha in the 2024 NCAA Columbia Regional, sending the Tigers to Super Regionals
- Both Kenleigh Cahalan and Jocelyn Erickson each extended their hit streaks to 10 games
- Cahalan also extended her on-base streak to 26. She has reached in every game this season
- Both of Erickson’s hits against the Tigers have been home runs
- The senior had the go-ahead two-run home run in the sixth inning on Saturday and a game-tying solo home run in the seventh inning tonight
- With 43 home runs as a Gator, Erickson has moved into a tie with Skylar Wallace (2022-24) for seventh-most career home runs in program history
- Taylor Shumaker has had multi-hit outings in seven of the last eight games
- Shumaker has 15 multi-hit games this season, a team-best, and 39 multi-hit games in her career
- Shumaker had a career-high eight putouts in right field
