No. 8 Gators Return Home for Matchup Against Mercer

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 8/7 Florida Lacrosse Team (3-2) returns to Donald R. Dizney Stadium on Saturday after a three-game road trip for a contest against the Mercer Bears (2-3) at 12 p.m.
 
The Gators return home after a 14-11 loss against No. 10 Navy. Florida was led by Boo DeWitt and Gabbi Koury, who each had three goals and one assist on the day.
 
Outlook on Mercer
Mercer comes to The Diz after a 22-7 win at Stetson where they were led by Caroline Glus (2 G/1 A), Gabby Brisbin (2 G/1 A), and Sofia D’Angelo (3 G) who all had three goals. They also enter with a two-game win streak, in which they have not given up more than 10 goals in both games and have won by at least 13 goals in both games.
 
Offensively, Mercer is led by Caroline Glus with 16 points (13 G/3 A) and Abby Vane with 13 points (9 G/4 A). Ansley Walters (10 G) joins Glus as the only Bears with over 10 goals this season. In cage, Mercer is led by MacKenzie Ward, who has 38 saves and a save % of .434 on the season. She also leads the team in ground balls with 16, five more than the next (Ansley Walters with 11).
 
Mercer is led by Samantha Eustace, who is in her 11th season coaching, all with the Bears. Since they joined the Big South in 2022, Mercer as won every conference tournament

Sophomore attacker Clark Hamilton is 6 points away from becoming the 27th 100-point scorer in Florida Lacrosse history. She is also 27 goals away from becoming the 20th 100 goal scorer in Florida Lacrosse history.
 
Return of the Gators
The Gators return home after a three-game road trip that saw them go 2-1, grabbing wins over Clemson and Stetson. Florida Lacrosse holds a 76-19 record in regular season home games and have gone 20-6 in the past six seasons, including the 2026 season.
 
Leading the Clear
Florida is currently tied first in the nation in clearing percentage with a 0.976 clearing percentage. This is nothing new for the Gators, as since the NCAA started tracking clearing percentage in 2019, the Gators have only finished outside the top 10 once, and finished in the top 3, three times (2024, ’23, ’20, and ’19)
