TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama men’s basketball guard Houston Mallette has been named the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, the league office announced Thursday. 

The SEC Community Service Team recognizes accomplishments of the student-athletes beyond the field of competition. This is the 28^th year for the SEC Community Service Team.  

• Averaging 7.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game this season
• A member of Alabama’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and serves as the secretary for SAAC
• Nominated for the Sport Management Masters Student of the Year
• Serves as the Men’s Basketball Chair for the SEC Leadership Council
• Prior to the season, Mallette was invited to Washington, D.C. to speak to Congress about NIL in the current college landscape
• Participated in Alabama Athletics Halloween Extravaganza
• Took part in Beat Auburn Beat Hunger Food Drive
• Leads Bible study for Alabama Athletics
• Hosted a youth basketball camp at Tuscaloosa Academy
• Visited firefighter stations to hand out hydration packs while writing letters to the burn unit at local hospitals
