Houston Mallette Named to SEC Community Service Team
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama men’s basketball guard Houston Mallette has been named the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, the league office announced Thursday.
The SEC Community Service Team recognizes accomplishments of the student-athletes beyond the field of competition. This is the 28th year for the SEC Community Service Team.
- Averaging 7.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game this season
- A member of Alabama’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and serves as the secretary for SAAC
- Nominated for the Sport Management Masters Student of the Year
- Serves as the Men’s Basketball Chair for the SEC Leadership Council
- Prior to the season, Mallette was invited to Washington, D.C. to speak to Congress about NIL in the current college landscape
- Participated in Alabama Athletics Halloween Extravaganza
- Took part in Beat Auburn Beat Hunger Food Drive
- Leads Bible study for Alabama Athletics
- Hosted a youth basketball camp at Tuscaloosa Academy
- Visited firefighter stations to hand out hydration packs while writing letters to the burn unit at local hospitals
