Lacrosse Falls at Louisville – Florida State University
The game began with the Cardinals scoring two quick goals. Alyssa Deacy answered with a strike from the 8-meter arc with a feed from Brooke Long to make it a 2-1 game.
Due to inclement weather in the area, the game was delayed for an hour and 50 minutes.
Out of the delay, Louisville scored eight straight goals to take a 10-2 lead. With 8:02 remaining in the half, Brynn Perkins ran around the back of the crease and found space to score her ninth goal of the season. The Seminoles trailed 12-2 at the break.
Summer Harrell scored her ninth goal of the season in the third quarter, but the Cardinals tallied two more goals to extend their lead 14-3.
Meg Kenny opened the fourth quarter with an unassisted goal, her team-leading 13th of the season. Following another Cardinal goal, Deacy mirrored her first-half goal, firing another shot from the 8-meter line and finding the top of the net to score her second goal of the game.
Julia Ward recorded a career-high and single-game program-record 11 saves in the net for FSU.
Florida State returns home to face No. 20 Virginia on Sunday at the Seminole Lacrosse Complex. First draw is scheduled for noon and the game will be broadcast live on ACCNX.
