Softball Remains Undefeated after Two Sunday Wins in Tuscaloosa
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball remains undefeated through four weeks of the season, improving to 20-0 with a pair of Sunday wins on the final day of the T-Mobile Crimson Classic at Rhoads Stadium. The Crimson Tide shut out St. Thomas, 7-0, before capping the weekend with an 8-1 win over Oakland.
Alabama (20-0) again combined timely hitting and lockdown pitching and defense in the wins over St. Thomas (14-6) and Oakland (8-4), hitting .358 as a team with a combined five home runs coming off the bats of four different players while the bullpen allowed just one run over 14.0 innings. Ana Roman hit a home run in each game today, pushing her season total to seven, which is now tied for second on the team with Brooke Wells, who also hit a home run Sunday. The pair would have tied with Alexis Pupillo for the team lead, but she launched her own homer on Sunday to push her team-leading number to eight, already surpassing her 2025 season total of seven. Freshman Ambrey Taylor hit her second home run of the season, a three-run shot vs. Oakland that bounced off the foul pole in left field.
In the circle, Vic Moten (9-0) got the win vs. St. Thomas with 5.0 shutout innings and one hit allowed while Alea Johnson (1-0) got the win in relief vs. Oakland, also allowing just one hit in a scoreless showing.
“It was a long weekend with a doubleheader every day, but it feels good to be 20-0 right now during non-conference play. Today we celebrated Kinley Pate, who brings such positive energy to the table every single day. She relishes her role and plays it to perfection. I’m just really glad that she’s a member of the Crimson Tide.”
