Georgia Closes Home Season at Bulldog Invitational

ATHENS, Ga. – Highlighted by a number of season-best performances, the University of Georgia swimming and diving teams concluded their regular season at the Bulldog Invitational Last Chance Meet Sunday at Bauerle Pool at Gabrielsen Natatorium.

  • Freshman Hayden Hollingsworth closed out her rookie campaign with a pair of personal-best times on the day. In the final event of the meet, Hollingsworth earned an NCAA cut in the 100-yard butterfly with a PB of 52.37. Earlier, in the morning session, she posted a PB of 50.42 in the 100y freestyle. Junior Elizabeth Tilt followed in the 100y free with a season-best time of 50.76.
  • Freshman Mia Jeltema turned in season-best times in each of her 100y breaststroke races. In prelims, she notched a time of 2:14.20 before bettering it in the afternoon with a 2:13.85.
  • Sophomore Samantha Rydzewski finished the season with a season-best time of 1:55.85 in the 200y backstroke.
  • Tilt joined freshman Marin Clem and seniors Emma Norton and Ieva Maluka in the 400y freestyle relay, finishing with a time of 3:18.55.

Georgia will host the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships at Gabrielsen Natatorium, running Sunday, March 8 through Wednesday, March 11. Qualifiers for the NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships will be announced on Wednesday, March 4, followed by men’s qualifiers on March 11. The NCAA Women’s Championships begin in Atlanta on Wednesday, March 18, with the men’s championships starting the following week on March 25.
