No. 7 Florida Heads to Annapolis for Top 10 Matchup Against No. 10 Navy
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The No. 7/7 Florida Gators Lacrosse Team (3-1) continues their road trip with a top 10 against the No. 10/10 Navy Midshipmen on Saturday at 9:30 p.m.
The Gators are coming of a 24-8 win over the Stetson Hatter in which there were led by Clark Hamilton (4 G), Kennedy Richardson (4 G), and Frannie Hahn (3 G/1 A) with four points. This matchup against the Midshipmen will be their fourth ranked matchup to start the season.
Outlook on Navy
The Midshipmen come into the matchup off a 14-6 win at High Point on February 21 in which they were led by Alyssa Chung and Taylor Miles who each had five goals and two assists.
Navy is led by Chung and Miles, as Chung leads the team in goals with 16 and Miles leads the team in points with 21 and co-leads in assists with 10, alongside Ava Yovino. Jalin Jenkins and goalie Felicia Giglio leads the Midshipmen on defense with Jenkins being second on the team with four behind Giglio, who leads the team in caused turnovers (6), saves (28), and save percentage (.483).
Navy is led by legendary head coach Cindy Timchal, who is in her 19th season at Navy and 44th season coaching overall. Timchal has won the most games in Division I women’s lacrosse with 597 and is second overall in all of collegiate women’s lacrosse.

This weekend’s matchup will see a battle of wits between two coaches who are in the top five of all-time career wins in Division I women’s lacrosse among current head coaches. UF Head Coach Amanda O’Leary holds 447 wins, good for 4th on that list and Navy Head Coach Cindy Timchal is first on that list with 597 wins.

UF Sophomore attacker Clark Hamilton is only six points away from reaching 100 points in her career and becoming the 27th 100-point scorer is program history. She is also 27 goals away from becoming the 20th goal scorer in UF Lacrosse.
Dynamic Duo
After putting the most points by a freshman duo in program history with 162 last season, Clark Hamilton and Frannie Hahn have put up 41 points (27 G/14 A) through four games this season. Their points per game (10.25), goals per game (6.75), and assists per game (2.5) so far this season it off to a better a pace then through four games last season.
