TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – After earning an 8-0 win Friday night, Alabama softball secured the weekend sweep over sixth-ranked Florida State Saturday at the Dugout Club Classic with a 5-1 win over the Seminoles. The second game against Elon was called in the third inning due to rain and will not be completed.

Alabama (12-0) got on the board early against Florida State (11-4) courtesy of an Alexis Pupillo solo home run in the top of the first. She followed that up later with another home run in the fifth inning, marking her fifth career multi-home game and her first as a member of the Crimson Tide. Mari Hubbard slugged her first homer of the season, a fourth inning solo shot, while Jena Young launched her second of the year to lead off the sixth inning.

Jocelyn Briski (3-0) took home the complete game win in the circle, striking out a career-best nine batters with 70 of her 84 pitches thrown going for strikes (83 percent).

“We’ve had four straight great starts by four different pitchers. I’m very proud of Jocelyn [Briski] for pounding the strike zone all day against Florida State. Our hitters continue to make quick adjustments during the game. Credit to Adam Arbour for having our hitters ready.”
