Women’s Tennis Set for Conference Opening Weekend

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women’s tennis team (2-5) opens ACC play on the road this weekend, beginning at No.62 Louisville (6-1, 0-1 ACC) on Friday, followed by a trip to No. 36 Notre Dame (11-1, 1-0) on Sunday. The match against Louisville is scheduled for 4 p.m., with first serve against Notre Dame set for noon.

The Seminoles are looking to win their second consecutive conference opener after a 4-1 victory over Boston College in 2025.

Florida State is 13-2 all-time against Louisville, dating back to their first meeting in 1982. The Seminoles also hold an 8-6 advantage all-time against Notre Dame, winning three of the past five matchups.

Louisville and Notre Dame opened conference play against each other this season, with Notre Dame earning a 4-1 victory.

In last season’s matchups, Eva Shaw earned two ranked Court 1 victories, defeating No. 115 Alice Otis of Louisville 6-4, 7-5, and No. 64 Akari Matsuno of Notre Dame 7-6 (6), 6-4.
