Women’s Golf Wraps Up Day One of the Moon Golf Invitational

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Alabama women’s golf team wrapped up the first round of the Moon Golf Invitational, sitting in a tie for 10th place at 12-over par 300. Ryan Flynn and Natachanok Tunwannarux led the way for the Crimson Tide, ending the day tied in 16th place on the player leaderboard at 1-over par 73.  

THE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Alabama recorded 61 pars in the first round of the tournament, the fifth-most by a team
  • Ryan Flynn and Natachanok Tunwannarux each carded a 1-over par 73, ending the day in 16th place on the player leaderboard
  • Tunwannarux posted an average score of 2.75 (-1) on Par 3 holes, tied for the second-loowest average score throughout the field
  • Alabama’s trio of Flynn, Tunwannarux and Mattison Frick were tied for the team lead with two birdies apiece in the opening round, as Frick finished the day at 3-over par 75 in 40th place 
  • Grace Crawford and Harriet Lockley ended the day tied for 75th overall at 7-over par 79, rounding out UA’s lineup

TEAM RESULTS

  • No. 6 Texas A&M sits in first place on the team leaderboard at 3-under par 285
  • Mississippi State’s Izzy Pellot sits atop the player leaderboard at 3-under par 69
