No. 5 Gators tied for third at Moon Golf Invitational

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The No. 5 Florida women’s golf team is tied for third after the opening round of the Moon Golf Invitational at Suntree Country Club on Sunday. 

Among the 12 top-25 teams competing this week, the Gators are T3 with No. 7 Wake Forest and No. 9 Texas at +5. No. 6 Texas A’M leads through 18-holes at 3-under. Round two continues tomorrow at 9:40 a.m. followed by round three on Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Junior Paula Francisco led the Gators with a round one of 71 (-1), tying for a team-high seven rounds under par this season. She is tied for 6th and was one of eight golfers to shoot in the red today. Francisco is two shots behind individual leader Izzy Pellot (-3) of Mississippi State. 

Both Megan Propeck and Siuue Wu each recorded a 73 (+1) and are tied for 16th as the final counting score was from Addison Klonowski (76, +4) today. She is T50 while Katelyn Huber (T83) had the non-counting score today (80, +8).
