No. 1 Oklahoma Takes Win Over No. 5 Florida
The meet was held in front of a pink-clad sellout crowd of 9,287 at Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. It was the 24th sellout for Gators Gymnastics since the 2018 season.
The defeat ended the Gators’ home winning stretch dating to Jan. 26, 2024, when Alabama took the win. Friday’s result also marked Florida’s first back-to-back league losses since the 2006 season, when the program dropped consecutive Southeastern Conference meets at then No. 4 Alabama and then to No. 1 Georgia.
TONIGHT’S MEET
Florida started the meet with some extra steps dinging their vault scores, as the team posted a 48.975. The only Gator to reach 9.90 was junior All-American Danie Ferris. It was her second consecutive vault 9.90 and third 2026 mark 9.9 or better. She took third overall tonight, as OU’s Addison Fatta posted her first 10.0 of 2026 to win while teammate Faith Torrez was second at 9.925.
The Gators set the nation’s uneven bars high of 49.65 on the next rotation. All marks contributing to the nation’s 2026 high were 9.9 or better. Riley McCusker matched her season-best of 9.975 to win her second bars title of the season. Kayla DiCello set her 2026 best to take second at 9.95 and Skye Blakely shared third at 9.925 with Oklahoma’s Mackenzie Estep.
Florida trailed by 0.250 at the meet’s midway point.

Both teams posted a 49.50 on the third rotation. Florida used three marks of 9.9 or better toward its balance beam total of 49.50, which equals the team high for 2026. Selena Harris-Miranda led with her third 9.95 on the event this season. Both Alyssa Arana and Blakely turned in 9.90s. OU’s Ella Murphy won beam at 9.975.
On the final rotation, the Gators couldn’t keep pace with Oklahoma’s balance beam marks, as the Sooners put up the nation’s event high of 49.70. Three Gators posted floor marks of 9.9 or better, including Harris-Miranda matching her collegiate-best of 9.975 to win floor. Blakely took second a 9.95, just off her collegiate best of 9.975 set versus Arkansas.

THEY SAID:
On tonight’s meet:
“Happy pink meet. Really grateful that Gator Nation showed up tonight for our student athletes. It really was electric in the O’Dome. We felt it. We thank Gator Nation with all our heart and extremely grateful and humble that tonight was for something bigger than the Gators. We all had somebody that we were doing this for. So it was something near and dear and close to our hearts.
“This team had had a little rocky start and finished really strong tonight. Saw some major bright spots throughout the evening, and it felt like the momentum kept getting stronger and stronger and extremely proud of the fight and the finish and the grit that this team ended on.” – Florida Head Coach Jenny Rowland
“There’s a lot to be proud of, but there’s also that chip on your shoulder. We did work so hard to put it together in the gym. To kind of see it happen towards the end when we competed will just light the fire a little brighter when we get back to practice. There’s still a lot of good things to be proud about.” – senior All-American Selena Harris-Miranda
“There was just a ton of good gymnastics that was done tonight. I’m really excited for this team, honestly. We are right there. Once we put all the puzzle pieces together, we going to be unstoppable.” – senior All-American Riley McCusker
NOTES:
- All winning marks tonight were perfect or near-perfect. OU’s Addison Fatta won vault with a 10.0. The other events were won with near-perfect 9.975 – bars (Riley McCusker, UF), beam (Ella Murphy, OU) and floor (Selena Harris-Miranda, UF).
- Junior Kayla DiCello made her first collegiate all-around appearance since the 2023 NCAA Team final – a span of 1,036 days. She took a gap year in 2024 to train for the Olympic Trials and was sidelined in 2025 recovering from injury.
- Florida is now 10-5 all-time in Friday the 13th meets.
- The Gators are 10-12 all-time versus the defending NCAA champion in the O’Connell Center.
- This was the fifth Gators Link to Pink sellout. The crowd of 9,287 is 11th highest since the Exectech Arena renovation in 2017.
