No. 1 Georgia Hits the Road to Face No. 5 South Carolina
The Mane Dawgs are fresh off an NCEA top-five win against No. 4 Texas A&M, 12-7, at home last Saturday as Georgia (7-2, 3-1 SEC) tallied its seventh win of the season. The Bulldogs brought home three MOP honors against the Aggies. Tessa Brown was awarded her first career MOP in Flat with a career-high score of 89. Tessa Downey tallied her second-consecutive Fences MOP with an 88. Abbey Zawisza collected her third honor of the season with a 76.5. IN addition to Brown, three other Bulldogs notched career-high rides against Texas A&M, including Kennedy Buchanan (73.5 in Reining), Ava Hathaway (86 in Horsemanship) and Ella Witt (86 in Fences).
This marks the 62nd meeting between the Bulldogs and Gamecocks. Georgia leads the all-time series 43-18 with a 13-11 record in Blythewood. The two teams met twice last season, and the Bulldogs stepped away victorious from both close meetings, winnings 10-7 in Bishop and 11-8 at South Carolina (7-4, 2-3 SEC).
