ATHENS, GA.—–Georgia checks in at No. 13 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) preseason top 30 poll while a pair of Bulldogs landed on All-America teams, it was announced recently.

Georgia was one of 12 Southeastern Conference schools to earn a preseason ranking by the NCBWA. The NCBWA weekly in-season poll will feature 25 teams. Additionally, the NCBWA named four preseason All-America squads.

Bulldog graduate transfer utility player Bryce Calloway landed on the second team while junior third baseman Tre Phelps made the fourth team. Calloway earned All-America honors last season as a two-way standout at the University of New Orleans. He led the Privateers in batting at .390 with 18 home runs and 63 RBI plus went 2-2 with a 4.26 ERA and 11 saves. Phelps started 50 games around the infield and outfield for the Bulldogs in 2025 and hit .318 with 10 home runs and 44 RBI.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. The preseason All-America squads are considered the first step toward the eventual selection of the 2026 Dick Howser Trophy presented by the Game Headwear and voted upon for 28 seasons by members of the NCBWA. Georgia’s Charlie Condon won the Dick Howser Trophy in 2024. The 168th season of NCAA Division I baseball begins Friday, Feb. 13 while the 79th NCAA World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, opens on June 12.

The Bulldogs have been ranked as high as No. 6 (Baseball America) and as low as No. 15 (D1Baseball, Perfect Game) in the other three preseason top 25 polls.

Georgia opens the season Friday at Foley Field with a three-game series against Wright State. Information on single-game non-conference tickets for the action at Foley Field can be found at this link: https://georgiadogs.evenue.net/events/BBSINGLE
