Alabama Falls to Memphis 4-0 on the Road

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Alabama men’s tennis team (3-5) fell to Memphis (5-1) on Friday in a 4-0 road decision.

Andrii Zimnokh and Rohan Hazratwala secured a doubles win for the Tide, while Zimnokh, Matic Kriznik and Vit Kalina were leading their singles matches when the contest was decided.

Match Notes 

  •  Zimnokh and Hazratwala captured their first win as a doubles duo
  • The pair dropped just three games on their way to victory at the No. 2 spot
  • In singles action, Zimnokh, Kriznik and Kalina all won their opening set on courts one, two and three
  • Kalina was just one game shy of clinching a win on court three 7-6(2), 5-1
  • After topping the first round 6-4, Kriznik was tied at 5-5 in the second set when the match was clinched
  • At the top of the order, Zimnokh had won his opening set tiebreaker 7-6(6), but was trailing 4-2 in set two
