TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women’s tennis team (2-2) is heading to Santa Barbara, California, for three matches this weekend. The Seminoles will play UCSB, No. 22 Texas Tech and Arizona at the Arnold Tennis Center.

The Seminoles will play on Friday at 3 p.m. ET to begin the first of three matches. FSU will face host school UCSB (2-2) for the first meeting since 2020, which included a 4-1 Seminole victory in the first round of ITA Kickoff Weekend.

FSU will then play No. 22-ranked Texas Tech (5-1) for the doubles session beginning on Friday at 7:00 p.m. ET with singles play to resume at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday morning. This will be the third matchup all-time between the two programs and the first since 1983. FSU holds a 2-0 series lead dating back to 1981.

The weekend will conclude with a match on Saturday afternoon against Arizona (4-2), following the conclusion of singles play against Texas Tech. Florida State defeated the Wildcats 4-3 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in its last meeting in 2014.

Mary Boyce Deatherage and Eva Shaw will lead the way for the Seminoles, each holding an undefeated spring singles record through the first four matches. Deatherage will enter the weekend with a 3-0 spring record (8-3 overall) followed by Shaw who is 2-0 (7-4 overall.)
