Doris Lemngole Named USTFCCCA Women’s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – For the second straight year, Alabama cross country’s Doris Lemngole was named the Women’s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the organization announced Thursday.

The program ace is the first female athlete to win the award in back-to-back years since the Crimson Tide’s Mercy Chelangat earned the recognition in the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

  • Maintained a 3.90 grade point average, majoring in sport management
  • Defended her individual Southeastern Conference title and national title during the 2025 cross country season
  • Named to both the Dean’s List and the President’s List twice
  • Two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member and USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree
