Weaver Named to Ben Hogan Award Watch List

TALLAHASSEE –  Florida State men’s golf junior Tyler Weaver was named to the 2026 Ben Hogan Award Watch List presented by Baird on Wednesday.
 
Weaver was one of the 17 juniors named to the 35-player list, and was one of seven from the ACC. On April 16, the field will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists, and three finalists will be named on May 12. The black-tie dinner will be held at the TCU Legends Club in Fort Worth, Texas where the winner will be crowned on Memorial Day.
 
The Ben Hogan Award annually awards the top men’s NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer based on results from all collegiate, amateur and professional events played over the previous 12 months. An esteemed international selection committee, comprised of 40 leaders in collegiate, amateur and professional golf, votes during each stage of the process.
 
Florida State has two Ben Hogan Award winners in program history, including Luke Clanton in 2025. John Pak won the honor in 2021.
 
Weaver, who is ranked No. 11 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, finished fourth at the 2026 Jones Cup after shooting 2-under, 142.
 
The Newmarket, England native, also competed at the World Wide Technology Championship in November of 2025, earning his exemption into the PGA Tour event after winning the Cabo Collegiate in 2025.
 
Weaver represented England at the World Amateur Team Championship, where he placed 17th. He also represented England at the Walker Cup, U.S. Amateur, St. Andrews Trophy, European Team Championship, European Amateur, Arnold Palmer Cup and U.S. Open, where he finished fourth among amateurs.
 
In the fall of 2025, Weaver competed for the Seminoles in two tournaments, finishing in the top 25 in both events.
 
The Seminoles will open the 2026 portion of the season at the Watersound Invitational, which will be held at the Third Course at the Watersound Club in Panama City, Florida, Feb. 16-18.
