Georgia Checks In At No. 6 In Baseball America Preseason Top 25
Georgia is one of six Southeastern Conference teams in BA’s top 10, joining LSU (2), Mississippi State (3), Auburn (5), Texas (8) and Arkansas (10). A total of 11 SEC teams made the initial top 25 poll.
Georgia, under the direction of Ike Cousins head baseball coach Wes Johnson, compiled a 43-17 mark in 2025. The Bulldogs were a consensus top 10 team and reached as high as No. 1 during the season. Also, the Bulldogs played host to an NCAA Regional as a national top eight seed for the second consecutive year. In the Georgia preview, Baseball America wrote “Back-to-back 43-win seasons and a super-regional appearance in 2024 made
Johnson the winningest coach through two years in school history and repositioned Georgia as a national player.”
Johnson will be featured on Bulldogs Live Tonight starting at 8:06 p.m., a UGAAA audio show hosted by Jeff Dantzler as they fill in for men’s basketball coach Mike White and “Voice of the Dawgs” Scott Howard who are on their way to Missouri for Tuesday’s SEC road contest. After having 10 players selected in the 2025 MLB Draft including their top five starting pitchers, Georgia bolstered its 2026 team with a portal class ranked among the nation’s best by multiple outlets.
